Community Service & Volunteer Opportunities

Graduation requirement: All students are required to complete 5 hours of community service each year. Students are required to enter the community service hours into their Xello accounts each year. Below is a listing of opportunities available to students. 

Allegheny Valley Hospital - Many opportunities are available in the health field. Tuition assistance may be available to those furthering their education. Kim Giovannelli 724-226-7339 

Allegheny Valley Hospital Summer Volunteer Program

AVH has several volunteer opportunities for students age 15 and older.

Junior Volunteers - age 15-18. These volunteers are assigned to areas throughout the hospital and require additional training to be assigned to nursing care units.
 
College Volunteers - age 18+ enrolled in post-secondary education or training program (not an intern). College volunteers are assigned throughout the hospital wherever volunteers are needed. College volunteers also attend additional training to be assigned to nursing care units.
 
Interested students are encouraged to apply online at www.wpahs.org/locations/allegheny-valley-hospital/volunteering or to call the office at 724-226-7370 to request an application. In addition to a formal application and orientations, other REQUIREMENTS include proof of immunization, providing 2 references and an interview.
